Thank you for visiting our website. The Lillian Fellowship is a group of believers who are together for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Several Gospel perspectives flow from this grace-focused approach to ministry –
* We understand the extent and gravity of our sin – to hear the good news of the Gospel we must first be willing to hear the bad news about our sin. Sin affects our every thought, motive, word, desire and action. Sin has infected all of us and the consequences of sin are drastic and eternal. The Bible describes this sinfulness with these words --
The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually (Genesis 6:5).
None is righteous, no, not one. (Romans 3:10)
* We understand the centrality of the heart. Most of us define sin in terms of behavior, but sin is more than our behavior. Sin comes from the inside of us. The heart is the real you. It is what guides our behavior. Everything we do is shaped and controlled by what our heart wants. God wants our hearts. The message of the Gospel is that God transforms our lives by transforming our hearts.
* We believe in the present benefits of Christ. Our hope is not in our theological knowledge or our experience within the body of Christ. Our hope is in the person and redemptive work of Jesus Christ. He is the wisdom behind every Biblical principle and the power we need to live by those principles.
* We believe that God has called us to growth and change. The Gospel is not just about escaping the fires of hell. God wants to free us from the bondage and slavery of sin in this life so we can reflect His righteousness now.
* We believe that God has called us to a lifestyle of repentance and faith. When God saves us, we belong to Him and therefore live by His agenda. There are always new sins for the Christian to address and new enemies to defeat. The Bible describes such a life like this –
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ (Titus 2:11-13)
At the Lillian Fellowship, we want to help foster such a life in you. We hope you will join us for worship often and consider one of our small group ministries to help you grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
